Terra
Terra, representing the element earth, played a significant role in art history. Throughout the evolution of assigning basic colors to the four elements, a journey that began with Empedocles and culminated with Leonardo da Vinci, we find that blue, yellow, red, and gray were designated. Interestingly, fire was initially associated with the color yellow, but Leonardo da Vinci departed from convention by employing yellow to depict earth instead of gray.
